* healing ? * ? * healer ? *
« on: April 25, 2012, 11:37:58 AM »
i joined this forum in hopes the focus is on healing.......
it seems less likely on a kambo forum to find people looking for escape or high
(than is possible on forums dealing with other plant medicines)

so what is healing ? what is a healer ?

i just want to throw out some ideas...thoughts to ponder
maybe get people thinking in new directions

my own journey has led me to believe that
before one can be a healer,
one has to first heal themselves

for myself,
I had a huge breakthrough awakening to the fact that
there is nothing to heal
only acceptance
acceptance was the key
and before one can move forward
one has to accept where and who they are
acceptance of one's be-ing

on a deeper level perhaps
acceptance of the reality of one's true non-existance

as one heals ones own self
then one can help guide others to heal thier own selves
i do not really believe that one can heal another
only help them on their own path

one guiding light that has been a foundation of my work
is that of resonance
as i move to balance - those around me move to balance
(and unfortunately if i am out of balance - so those around me)

this concept comes from physics
and is most easily understood in music
as is one of the guiding principles in hands on touch

and I have found it to be a powerful force underlying the role
of the shaman, the provider, the sitter or the friend

musical instruments are set into vibrational motion at their natural frequency when a person hits, strikes, strums, plucks or somehow disturbs the object. Each natural frequency of the object is associated with one of the many standing wave patterns by which that object could vibrate. The natural frequencies of a musical instrument are sometimes referred to as the harmonics of the instrument. An instrument can be forced into vibrating at one of its harmonics (with one of its standing wave patterns) if another interconnected object pushes it with one of those frequencies. This is known as resonance - when one object vibrating at the same natural frequency of a second object forces that second object into vibrational motion.

I would reword as follows:
A person can be moved towards vibrating into a peaceful harmony if another person they are connected to, vibrates with that same wave of peaceful harmony

the world around us is projected from within us

peace to all

looking forward to some stimulating, growthful and challenging exchanges

I prefer always remember that healing comes not from the healer but from the Great Mistery and the body (... the immune system ?) of the ill person itself. I read a statement by a great apache shaman who said " I have almost the power of a dead chicken;D; that to say he attributed to himself not more than 10% of a successfull healing, the rest comes from God and the patient; he added that the shaman is often the only one  believing to the possibility of the patient to be healed, in other words the shaman gives credit and support his will.

It is proven that love and self esteem can greatly potentiate the reaction of the body to deseases: it's the enthusiasm of living which can make a big difference !
