Nu-nu
« on: September 15, 2012, 08:21:59 AM »
Someone here posted a zip file with two articles on the Matses. I read one of them and in it they described how the hunters will use nu-nu in a way that makes them lose consciousness, then they receive visions. They talked about how the hunter projects a spirit body (called an anima) into the jungle while he is sleeping which I found pretty interesting. Is nu-nu only used for hunting, or can it be used for healing too? If it can be used to communicate with the spirit world and gain information useful for hunting, I wonder if the same can be done for healing.

I don't know, but that anima is the same thing that I mentioned when talking about sleep paralysis and the etheric double.  If you have regular bouts of SP, you don't need nu-nu, just learn how to exit the body.  I can't do it consciously anymore, it is automatic.  There was a time though when I had to learn how to exit the body.

This stuff doesn't happen by my will and not that often, but it happens and I have second hand accounts as I visited my dad and brother on two seperate nights and I was able to tell them every minor detail about what they were doing at the time and neither of them liked that.  They were skeptical at first, but agreed that it was just too much detail to be BS.

I don't put much stock in age, but all this stuff didn't start happening in a positive way until I was about 28.

Lately, I have been lucid and conscious of travel to the "underworld" so to speak.  When it is time to go the body literally pulls you up and it is a strange ride.

Thats exactly what I was thinking when I read your reply involving SP. I was gonna start a thread on this but couldn't find the right forum so may as well just talk about it here as its relevant to nu-nu. You say it doesn't happen by will but do you know any triggers that might indirectly lead to it happening? I relax in SP always now. My SP used to be extremely intense, my whole body would vibrate violently and I'd be bombarded by hallucinations, now sometimes I don't even notice that I'm in SP until I go to move and realise I'm paralysed.

When it happens, is there a silver cord that attaches your etheric double to your body? I read a good few accounts of people claiming to have astral traveled and they all say theres a silver cord. Interestingly, people with NDEs often claim to have similar experiences but there is no silver cord. My father has clinically died twice (once of a heroin OD, once in an intentional car crash) and he says after the car crash, he was floating above his body watching the doctors putting his eye back into his head and resuscitating him with the defibrillators. After I started taking xanax, I no longer get sleep paralysis regularly. I'm hoping that when this withdrawal has fully subsided, I'll start getting it again.

Do opiates make your SP episodes more frequent too?

Yes, way more frequent, but I still get them from time to time.

I don't think those are hallucinations, more real than what we consider real, but that's a matter of opinion.  The vibration is extremely intense and the last part to release from the physical is at the head area.  The feet float up first and so on and so forth and sometimes I can't/don't break free at the head....but when I do it's time to travel and move through "solid" objects, fly miles upon miles (even into space) and all sorts of crazy shit like looking at your own body as you stand next to your bed....oh yeah it is all very possible and is a trip.  A teacher told me that when one starts to master this going back and forth in time is no big deal.  I think the nu-nu allows them to release from the body and travel forward in time to see the location of animals for the hunt, or even see the hunt.

There are a lot of people on the planet right now who can do this sort of stuff without any substances.  I am one (but am a rookie for sure since I am just getting the awareness) and I have come into contact with several.  I like how my first teacher friend put it, "there is only one consciousness, just different levels of awareness".  Right on.

As for SP, I don't know how to trigger it, but there are books on it and I have heard of others who do know the methods.

I haven't seen the silver cord, only felt its pull.  Check out Ecclesiastes 12:6.

Benzos don't stop my SP.

So all this is exciting, but as I learned from one very experienced in these matters it is just the tiny tip off a massive iceberg and the more effort that I put into trying to cultivate these things the more I am just pushing and struggling instead of being in the moment and enjoying the journey.  I think most of the important things, e.g. spiritual awakening, happen on their own time.

And please don't get the wrong impression, I am not saying that I can do naturally what these people do on Nu-nu, not at all.  I am just saying that it is possible and that I am certain that a time will come when it will be possible to do at will.  It won't come through force of will, but rather spiritual growth through the combined use of the 12-steps (which include prayer and meditation) and the conservative use of entheogens.

I have had many a spiritual experience, but these are not usually anything that I make happen.  It is a part of who I am, and who that is I DON'T YET KNOW.  I think "I" have to die to know, not in the physical sense.  I think God wants me (ego) dead so that I may be one of the creators many perfect conduits.  Lots of purifying to go for this filthy bastard!

I know what you mean, I don't think they are hallucinations either, I just used that word because I have no other word for it. I lucid dream every night so I am pretty familiar with dream phenomena and the stuff I perceive in SP seem to be of a different nature. They are influenced by thoughts though, I'm sure of that. What they are, I have no idea. Maybe they are astral/etheric phenomena and that we are perceptive to them during that transition state between wake and sleep. Theres something very mysterious about sleep paralysis though, the body being paralysed is a normal thing that happens to everyone when they sleep at night but being fully aware of the process and getting temporarily stuck in that paralysis state and perceiving all kinds of strange things, thats abnormal.

I suspect that dreams aren't the imaginary constructs of ones mind like the average Westerner believes these days either. I have experienced telepathy and psychic phenomena in both SP and dreams. In the film, Apocalypto theres a bit where he has a premonitory dream in which a mans holding his heart in his hand. I've observed things like this.
