Application / Re: Burning Stick

Remember sterilization, wipe skin, knife, perhaps even your stick with alcohol, iso or ethyl. Especially if you're grabbing a new stick from the woods.

Kambo & Ayahuasca / Re: Aya and Kambo
« on: March 27, 2017, 05:38:16 PM »
I used to do pharma many years ago and it can be very intense. Had my first proper ayahuasca ceremony two days ago. I plan to do kambo tomorrow morning. I will report back if I notice any interaction.

I do have some ayahuasca extract and psychotria viridis concentrate I plan to take soon, will probably brew up some other herbs to mix in there to take in a non-ceremonial setting. I will post on both the post-aya and pre-pharma interactions.

Precautions / Importance of Sterility
« on: March 27, 2017, 05:24:38 PM »
This should be a no brainer but is something I forgot during my first few sessions. I am no so sensitive to these types of things but other people may be. So I just wanted to highlight the importance of making sure your skin, as well as the knife/stick you use to administer the venom are clean.

Some isopropyl alcohol will do the trick. Sterilize the skin, and the knife before burning and applying venom to the gates.

Happy Purging!  :)

Video / Re: The Sunshine Makers (Documentary)

This movie gave me all sorts of good feels and laughs. Was great to hear that story. Sand, Scully and Owsley and are legends. I can only admire Sands dedication to his mission. What a guy.

Video / Re: Terence Mckenna - Prague-Gnosis

Love that video   ;D Mckenna is the best. And such great guests. Love those corny waiter jokes during the Ram Dass portion. "You are Terence Mushroom Mckenna and CD-Rom Dass?"  "LSD-Dass"  "Ahhhh yes, see you waiter" Always wondered if that was staged. Upon re-watching it looks genuine.

Thanks for reminding me about this though, haven't watched in years.

Who can and can't do Kambo? / Re: Suboxone
« on: March 27, 2017, 05:06:02 PM »
Hello all, I have quite a lot of personal experience with suboxone. I actually began using kambo as a means of helping me end my suboxone addiction. And for me it was certainly an addiction, I did not use it in the proper fashion or in regular doses, I do not reccomend this to anyone. I even developed a habit of IVing suboxone and subutex as I was still fixated on use of the needle from my heroin addiction. I understand that suboxone helps many people and some even say its saved their life. I personally hate the stuff, in some ways I think its worse than heroin, for me it deepened my dependency to opiates as I now had a reliable source of some opiate daily. Also, the withdrawls from suboxone last longer than from heroin. But for people who really need to break their behavioral habits, stop shooting up, ween down and stop putting themselves in dangerous situations to cop heroin it can be helpful.

Suboxone in general makes me very constipated, its hard to piss and damn near impossible to shit anything other than rabbit turds. With this in mind, kambo is used for cleansing, so I really would not recommend kambo if you plan to continue your suboxone use, however, if you want to get off suboxone, which I strongly advise you to do, kambo will help you, and expedite the withdrawal process IMO. Once off suboxone you will notice that you gain your senses back, suboxone seems to put a filter around all your senses, you will begin to see, hear, feel more as you come off you will see your pupils again, I was very happy to see mine after months on that stuff. Regaining your senses can be uncomfortable after getting used to being dulled, but remember this is what you want, you're here on earth to feel not be numbed.

Personally, after a fairly strong ayahuasca trip, before which I had stopped using suboxone for two weeks (which again, I do not advise, everyone is different, I would suggest at least a month of subs before ayahuasca, it will make the trip easier as well). The whole theme of my trip was gaia showing me the habits that no longer serve me for what they really are and not how I view them, showing me how ugly what I was doing really was. After that I have sworn off suboxone.

In closing, using kambo and suboxone at the same time seems kind of contradictory to me. But it will help you get off, and at .5mg a day i would suggest you do so. The physical withdrawal should subside after a few weeks at most, the emotional withdrawal and stabilization may take months. Good luck

The Process / Re: Heaving, but no puking?
« on: February 28, 2017, 10:16:59 PM »
My girlfriend recently had trouble puking after six dots. She forced herself to vomit with her finger. I think she may need more dots as well. My first time I only drank 1.5L and after my initial purge I was dry and was heaving with no vomit. Another technique to induce some nausea and vomiting is the use of tobacco snuff or hape. There are many different forms available. I tried to offer some to my lady while she was having trouble but she was a bit disoriented and didn't understand that this is a traditional technique to induce the purge. If you can get yourself a variety of snuff that is intended to induce deep purging this may help get you more nauseous during your kambo  ceremony. There are self applicators for the snuff called a kuripe (angled bamboo tube) if you're doing this alone. However I think the best tool would be to use a tepi which is a longer tube intended to have someone else blow the tobacco into each nostril.

personally I would use this variety however be warned it is very strong and will add to your overall disorientation, gives quite a strong head high, but would certainly help you vomit IMO. There are other varieties used for purging if you feel this one is not for you.

Kambo for Restoring Innate and Dormant Instincts / Spatial Orientation
« on: February 28, 2017, 08:30:08 PM »
McKenna mentions some abilities that we have lost as a species that we once had while in a more harmonious relationship with the earth. He spoke of indigenous peoples naturally walking the most level path between two points. They would somehow naturally avoid peaks and valleys due to an innate connection to the landscape. I would bet that kambo allows us to tap into those types of skills again. Certainly many of you know it was/is used for hunting. Also on a more metaphorical level, allowing us to find "the path of least resistance" in our lives. Getting us to our desired destinations with the greatest amount of ease, both when physically traversing land and space, and within our own minds. Insights?

« on: February 28, 2017, 07:49:34 PM »
Glad to have you here friend. I am relatively new to this medicine as well but sounds like we are on a very similar journey of healing. I have been applying the kambo myself, and have been using and growing ayahuasca for a number of years however i have never taken place in a real ceremony, which I will at the end of this month I am very excited. All the best to you! These medicines can bring about tremendous healing I will keep you and your chemical sensitivity in mind, I hope you can one day paint again.

Journals / Ordeals / Writeup from first 2 sessions.
« on: February 28, 2017, 07:37:40 PM »
Its been about 3 weeks now since my first experience with kambo. I decided to just jump in feet first and do it myself. I was really a lot more fearful of the burning that was warranted. But nonetheless I had a fair bit of anxiousness before hand. Anyway.... I drank my 2 liters of water...more like 1.5 this turned out to be a regret should have drank more. Made my six dots of venom ready to go and wet, I was a little unsure of the size but i think i got it right. The burning is easy once you get the hang of it, doesnt even really hurt all that bad. You definitely learn quick to make sure the ember on the end of the stick is flat and not pointy, really helps make good burns. I made mine on my right inner forearm (left handed). Upon application of the venom i felt my body get very warm and a pressure mount in my head. It comes on very quickly, i could feel it before i finished applying dots. I then rushed to the bathroom and wasnt sure if i was gonna puke or shit because it felt like i had to shit. I then puked sitting on the toilet with a bowl in my lap, and eventually switched to the toilet. Some coffee and water came up first, then the thickest most bitter bile ive ever tasted. Then just a bunch of dry heaving since there was no more water in me. I then just brushed my teeth and showered. My face was very very swollen, was back to normal in about an hour.

Next I applied Kambo on my girlfriend. She suffered a bite from a brown recluse spider some time ago and we are hoping this helps. I applied next to her spider bite on her leg. She drank two liters of water but had to force herself to puke and what came out of her was more watery and not as thick as what came out of me, and she said she wouldnt have puked if she hadnt forced herself. Perhaps I used less venom on her, I tried to keep the dots small because she is very sensitive to a lot. Maybe we'll try more next time.

And finally for this post my second application. I had actually been up all night, I had court the next morning and was a bit worried. Figured Id do some kambo for the "ridding of bad luck" aspect. The moon was in its final quarter phase, and I prepared the kambo at sunrise. This time choosing to make the dots on the same forearm but on the outer side. I may have used more venom this time, my face swelled much more, i purged less fluid it seemed, but over a longer period of time.  And it seemed to take the whole day for the swelling in my face to subside.

I will save my some anecdotes and other observations for a different post.
