Diet before and after / Re: Fasting beforehand isn't necessary
« on: July 23, 2013, 10:25:31 AM »
So I woke up this morning tossing and turning with this fasting issue on my mind.

As the use of kambo spreads outside its traditional use in the jungle, we have to be careful to maintain the integrity of how it is used. We don't have the advantage of growing up with it and seeing how our elders respect the frog.

This is not something to be played with or taken casually. As non native users, we have a responsibility to not let kambo become a fad or another exotic thing to experiment with. We have a tendency in the west to be a little too casual with things.

Anyone taking kambo should reflect on their reason for doing it. What is your intention? That is really important to know before you take kambo.

I don't mean to preach but its like an alarm went off in my head, or more accurately, my body. I feel this in my bones, not with my head.

Well, in my opinion, you are wrong. That is a very strong statement to make based on one experience with some bread.

Fasting enables you to fill the stomach with the water necessary to purge effectively. If someone had a lot of food in their stomach and/or intestines, then purging could be very unpleasant and even more so for those occasions when you purge from both ends. It could also make filling your stomach with water more difficult.

Fasting is a form of cleansing so you are cleaning out your body in preparation to receive the kambo. Some people go even further and do enemas before hand. All this helps the kambo get into your system without any physical obstacles in the way. The frog likes water (makes sense doesn't it?) so getting rid of as much food and waste in the body before hand just makes more sense to me.

I also feel that fasting is a sign of respect for the kambo but that is just my personal opinion - its what feels right to me.

I had a doctor appointment this morning and he noticed the burns on both my forearms and asked what they were. I told him without going into too much detail and I was pleasantly surprised at his reaction which was mostly mild curiosity. For a doctor trained in Western medicine, I found his openness to it very refreshing.

The Process / Re: Getting frog faced

Whats strange is I never got frog faced the first 5 or so times I did it. Then I visited Giovanni Lattanzi who applied it and I got heavily frog faced. Now whenever I do it by myself, I get the frog face. Its as if kambo gets more effective every time you use it.

Interesting - I've never gotten frog faced and have had a number of treatments from Giovanni. I saw him do kambo on someone the last time I saw him and that guy got a little frog faced which he had never experienced before.

any association with Monsanto is cause for alarm - definitely doesn't across as a trustworthy person or source.

I've always wondered why US peeps want to travel far. ... as far as I know no one offers the same treatment exactly,

Hopefully most of these people are wanting to go to South America as much for a cultural experience than anything else and are simply looking for various contacts to check into while they are there. I'm sure there are some that equate exotic locales with a more exotic/authentic experience.

I would agree that to travel far simply for kambo is a mistake. Just in the short amount of time that I have known about this amazing frog, there have been quantum leaps in the understanding and application of kambo. I would go so far as to say that there are folks in the US that are on the cutting edge (or is that the burning edge..?!) and people from overseas would do themselves a service by considering coming here for their kambo.

I also think it would be safer to have all these posts under a separate Unorthodox section so that its clear that they are not considered the normal/traditional way of doing kambo. I like keeping traditional and avant garde techniques distinct.

I've always used sananga when doing kambo - usually right before or between a double session. Haven't had any visions after kambo but that is no surprise for me (!!!)

I have started using sananga every night just before I go to bed and my eyes seem extremely grateful for the medicine I'm giving them.

General Discussion / Re: Kambo pre Iboga question...

just enough root bark to lower your resistance, like when low dosing a few days to prep for and familiarize a first time r for a flood..
only now its to open yourself up for the Kambo...
my sense is that its not about lowering your resistance to the kambo but its getting the iboga and kambo to "talk" to one another - the kambo responds to that small amount of iboga in your system and then the final iboga responds to the kambo in your system so its like a layering effect :
iboga
kambo
iboga

it seems to set up a sort of feedback system. K might have some thoughts on this.

wait long enough to be able to purge without fear of losing any of the iboga benefit...
which btw.. i know its not a large amount by any means.. doesn't wood take forevvveeerrrrr to be absorbed???
that's why its better to put it in a blender and turn it into star dust - the fine powder is absorbed much easier and if you add some lecithin (just a little in a cap with the powder) that will be enough "food" to alert your stomach to start the digestion process

now that you have opened yourself up more for the Kambo... do like a moderate Kambo session (for me that would be a 5point maybe?)

rehydrate for the rest of the day and in the evening....
then the  700 mg TA booster
(which is reportedly from pretty strong batch)
yup!

I just got sick for the first time in 2 years

Well that ain't too shabby K... I have not had a day's sickness in the 5 months since I first did kambo - it was strange to go through winter seeing everyone around me getting the flu, bad colds, getting reinfected etc etc and it was like I had this bullettproof vest on.

I had my first set of points made on my legs so they are only visible when I wear shorts and most people don't notice them (having hairy legs helps!). I got a somewhat shocked response from a guy who was doing bodywork on me shortly after I'd had them done when they were still big with red scabs from the Sangre de Grado. In hindsight I should probably have waited a little longer for them to heal.

My most recent points are on both forearms from the wrist up and another line on the side of the wrist. I also have red dots on white skin. I thought about wearing long sleeved shirts until they had healed more but it didn't feel right to try and hide them.

My main concern with them being so visible on my forearms is the reaction of people at work - particularly my supervisor and our overall boss. They aren't exactly tuned in to this sort of thing. My friends are fine with it and I have explained the burns to some of my co workers by telling them its a shamanic healing technique - they seem satisfied with that. I'm deliberately vague about the actual process but I've told some of them its kambo. If they decide to google it, they are entitled to do that and I'm happy to tell them more about it if they do and have questions.

if you already know that 200mg TA is a good walk around dose then I would stick with that for the pre kambo morning dose. Like you said, you don't want to have wobbly hands trying to make burns (although it might be funny for someone else to watch you doing that...!).

Listen to your body - you'll know how much kambo to do. Sometimes just one extra burn makes a huge difference. Maybe do 8 burns, put kambo on 7 as usual purge, drink more water and add kambo to the 8th burn.

Sounds like you're approaching both medicines with the right attitude and that's half the battle really.

Take care and much healing to you

Hi jimid

What is your tolerance level for iboga? As K stated, he is very sensitive to both medicines so I'm curious to know how much kambo you've done and how much iboga you've done and how you tolerated it.

I am nowhere near as sensitive to either medicine. Prior to doing Papa Kambo Papa, I microdosed 1g RB every night for a couple of weeks.

When I started the PKP, I would fast (just apple juice, tea or water), take 1gm of RB in the morning about 4 hrs before doing 2 kambo sessions then I would take anther gram of RB in the evening maybe 5 hrs after the last kambo. I did this for 2 days in a row.

The only difference I noticed once I started the PKP was that i started remembering my dreams which I don't normally do. Given the nature of the dreams that I had, I put them down to the work of Iboga.

The next day, I took a break from the kambo but still took 1 gm of RB morning and evening.

Given the amount of TA you have, I won't go into the details of taking a lot of RB after an intense kambo session but it is not for the faint of heart!

I have done this once before a few months ago. That time I actually had amazing results. You can read about it here:

http://kambo.me/smf/index.php?topic=160.0

I'm not sure how the 14g of RB I took compares to the amount of TA you have but it certainly was an amazing and blissful time for me. I think part of it is just surrendering to what the medicines have in store for you - its not always what you expect.

When I tried this combo back in November, the effects of the 14g of RB really came through - particularly for the 2 days after then on a more subtle level for a couple of weeks after that. This time, iboga worked on some painful house cleaning for me and is still doing something in the background judging by my dreams but it is the kambo that is shining through magnificently - an energy that I know others have experienced but its a first for me.

Let me know if you have any other questions

The Process / Getting frog faced
« on: April 24, 2013, 11:53:03 AM »
So I recently observed someone getting kambo and they ended up with a mild case of frog face.

They had done kambo many times in the past but had never gotten frog faced. This time, as he was purging, he commented that his face felt strange and sure enough, when he finished purging, he was mildly but definitely frog faced.

I have never had this happen to me.

One theory for why this happens is that according to Traditional Chinese medicine, some people are prone to dampness. Now it would make sense that the kambo would be attracted to dampness. So anyone who has this dampness either as a temporary condition or is prone to dampness on a more consistent basis would be prone to getting frog faced.

Anyone have other thoughts on why some get frog faced and others don't?

General Discussion / Re: Bowel movements and Kambo.. SERIOUS QUESTION
« on: April 24, 2013, 11:19:19 AM »
interesting thread - the first time I came across kambo was via this vid:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDMKJwiIu0o

it clearly shows that the purging isn't limited to vomiting the water and bile through the mouth...

Given that its a natural bodily function that we hopefully perform at least on a daily basis, I don't understand why society in general is so prudish about it.

Each time I have taken kambo, I've had the need to go to the bathroom after the mouth purging has finished. I've always had plenty of time to do this - kambo gave me advance warning and I could feel the change in my intestines. Never had anything unusual looking come out.

Recently I've been trying  a modification of K's method. Instead of doing a full enema before hand, I use one of those ear syringe bulbs and find a few flushing with that does a pretty good job. Even when I've prepped that way, I still get the urge to go even if nothing comes out.
