Complementary Modalities / Re: Entheogenic Medicine Documentaries
« on: January 31, 2013, 09:07:26 AM »
Was that the story where the shaman added mapacho tobacco to the ayahuasca as is common down there but with no tolerance, overdosed the person with nicotine? That's a shame as the guy behind the story of stepping into the fire really seemed to be a good person who had seen the light of karma and embraced it. I hope he and his retreat continue to flourish.

EDIT: hmm, i read about the story and it doesn't seem to state the actual cause besides an excessive dose. even their website is closed. my guess would be nicotine poisoning or less likely tropanes. Unless there was a complication with mixing prescription pharmaceuticals.
Whatever the cause, that really sucks.

You could also get a tincture of Cayenne pepper and squirt some in their mouth. This will prevent anyone from passing out lol. but seriously.

Stepping Into The Fire
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0ommNRJeMQ
STEPPING INTO THE FIRE is a feature length documentary that tells the story of a seemingly successful man living an unfulfilled life and his journey towards truth and happiness. What if the thoughts, values and philosophies that guided our lives were at the root of our misery and there was ancient and time honored knowledge that could truly heal our soul. This compelling film provides insight into ancient shamanic practices from deep in the Peruvian jungles, and a thought provoking commentary on human spirituality and wellness.

The Jungle Prescription
http://www.disclose.tv/action/viewvideo/84400/Canadian_Doctor_Uses_Ayahuasca_to_treat_addiction/
The Jungle Prescription is the tale of two doctors treating their addicted patients with a mysterious Amazonian medicine rumored to reveal one's deepest self.
Dr. Gabor Maté has a revolutionary idea: to treat addicts with compassion.Dr. Gabor Maté had a revolutionary idea: to treat addicts with compassion. His work as the resident doctor in Vancouver’s Portland Hotel – a last-chance destination for lifelong drug abusers – has been courageous, but incredibly frustrating. Maté hears of an ancient medicine beyond his imaginings: one that could provide his patients with a solution. Its name is ayahuasca: the vine of the souls.
Deep in the Amazon jungle, French doctor Jacques Mabit is using this medicine to treat hardcore addicts. Mabit runs a detox centre in the Amazon (Takiwasi or “The House That Sings”), using the plants and methods of traditional medicine. Ayahuasca is a visionary formula that unlocks emotional memory; causing life-changing catharsis in those who drink it. The reported success rates for curing addicts at Dr. Mabit’s detox centre are quadruple the average.

Metamorphosis
http://youtu.be/KlKAXTMlIQk
A film documenting the experience of a group visiting an ayahuasca clinic in Peru. The clinic, Blue Morpho, www.bluemorphotours.com, was opened by an American from California who went to Peru in his early twenties to become a shaman. This is one of the best documentaries I've seen on the topic thus far.

Manifesting The Mind
http://www.documentarywire.com/manifesting-the-mind
Bouncing Bear Films is proud to announce our first documentary film. This film is the first in a series of three films discussing various aspects of shamanism. This first film, Manifesting the Mind, is a broad look at psychedelics in general. Why are psychedelics so brutally suppressed in our culture? What exactly are some of the psychedelic plants and chemicals and how can they benefit us? With philosophy and insight from Dennis McKenna, Daniel Pinchbeck, Alex Grey, and many others, this film is not to be missed by anyone interested in psychedelics and shamanism.

Shamanism - Other Worlds - Ayahuasca Documentary
http://youtu.be/wE0sDm5ba-4
Ayahuasca is used largely as a religious sacrament. Those whose usage of ayahuasca is performed in non-traditional contexts often align themselves with the philosophies and cosmologies associated with ayahuasca shamanism, as practiced among indigenous peoples like the Urarina of Peruvian Amazonia. The religion Santo Daime uses it.

While non-native users know of the spiritual applications of ayahuasca, a less well-known traditional usage focuses on the medicinal properties of ayahuasca. Its purgative properties are highly important (many refer to it as la purga, "the purge"). The intense vomiting and occasional diarrhea it induces can clear the body of worms and other tropical parasites, and harmala alkaloids themselves have been shown to be anthelmintic. Thus, this action is twofold; a direct action on the parasites by these harmala alkaloids (particularly harmine in ayahuasca) works to kill the parasites, and parasites are expelled through the increased intestinal motility that is caused by these alkaloids.

IBOGAINE - Rite of Passage
http://youtu.be/r-Ap5lyYcI0
A Revealing documentary about the most promising treatment modality for drug dependance available. It is the only substance we know, which is capable of blocking acute withdrawal in opioid addicts as well as cocaine and alcohol. Although the FDA decided in 1993 that Ibogaine showed enough signs of being an effective tool in the treatment of addiction, money is the problem; this natural occuring molecule cannot be patented and is not a maintenance drug with addictive properties; reason for the pharmaceutical industry not to invest in its development... Educate yourself about this unique tool!

Tribe: African Vision Quest (Bruce Perry)
http://youtu.be/t2OqhuJm22o
The Babongo of Gabon used to be known, derogatively, as pygmies. They're still treated as second-class citizens by their neighbours. But their expertise and knowledge of the forests is unique and their use of Iboga, a powerful hallucinogenic which lies at the heart of Babongo culture, makes them famous throughout Gabon.

Shamans Of The Amazon: A Timeless Journey
http://youtu.be/w8V9t5smjh0
A personal account of filmmaker, Dean Jefferys, returning to the Amazon with his partner and one year old daughter.

They journey deep into the heart of the Ecuadorian rainforest to meet two Amazon shamans to learn about and experience the ancient hallucinogenic ayahuasca ritual.

The film brings to the viewer an intimate and fascinating look at the shamans of the Amazon, their culture and their rituals that are fast disappearing.

Complementary Modalities / Raw Cannabis as Medicine
« on: January 29, 2013, 03:26:15 AM »
Cannabis can be juiced like other green leafy vegetables. It's an amazing nutritive and a miracle cure.
In the raw form THC and CBD exist in their acid forms which are not psychoactive but are antioxidant.

FYI: metabolites can still cause a red flag in drug tests.

Precautions / Re: Not overdoing it with the burns
« on: January 26, 2013, 03:12:36 AM »
i guess it's possible with a compromised immune system, not keeping the would sterile, and being in a new, very humid, environment with new pathogens you're immune system is not used to. I wonder if dragon's blood is anti-microbial. I kind of feel like it is. Besides forming a a second skin-like bandage and helping to repair skin. It sometimes burns like hydrogen peroxide when first applied. I also notice that pain of wounds are dulled after Dragon's Blood has been on a while, almost as if it has pain-relieving compounds as well.

I don't know but it's a shame she has been scared away from Kambo.

The Glow (After Effects and Affects) / After effects
« on: January 23, 2013, 06:33:01 AM »
I've had some interesting after-effects from Kambo. I don't know if some of these may be in my head. But being that our thoughts help shape reality, I follow my intuitive feelings as truth unless proven otherwise.

  • I felt more positive and energetic. Waking up earlier has been easier for me. Something I've never done naturally, my whole life, if I didn't have to.
  • After the first strong use I felt as though my energy was different. My mind felt more digitalized. I don't know how to explain this. Maybe it was tho my brain was computing things better as if a new memory card had been installed. (computer analogy) I also get visuals a lot, not just from psychedelics, but from many things like energy transference (e.g.; sex) And I may have felt that visuals I commonly see were somehow more digitalized.
  • I felt as if my energy was different. Not necessarily a good or bad thing. But something I was like hmm, I have to get used to this.
  • For a short while I also felt as if there was another intelligence in my own head. Not a judgmental feeling but as if there was a presence in me, with me.

Has anyone notices similar effects, namely the last three?

I would also say I feel cleaner afterward but I have been doing a lot to cleanse myself for awhile. Juice fasting, herbal enemas, liver & gallbladder flushes, taking detox supplements like Spirulina, Shilajit, MSM, Zeolites, drinking pure spring water, eating high % raw vegan foods when possible, ect. So feeling cleaner wasn't a big change. All these things have also made my blood feel less acidic. Which was a feeling I'd have when waking up in the morning, which made it more difficult to spring out of bed enthusiastically.

Complementary Modalities / Liver & Gallbladder cleanse
« on: January 23, 2013, 05:49:36 AM »
Liver & Gallbladder cleanse/ flush/ detox

Every morning on an empty stomach for a week blend:

8oz of water (I recommend sping water; find a spring),
8oz of juice (apple & or grape or lemon & or lime),
a piece of ginger about the size of the top half of your thumb (skin and all),
a clove of garlic,
and a tbsp olive oil.

Milk Thistle can also be added to this though not mandatory or in the original recipe.
It helps detox the liver, protects liver cells from toxins, and helps repair liver damage.

Apple & grape can be used during fall/winter and lemon & lime juice can be used during spring/summer.
This is when these are seasonal, and nature supports us intelligently during the different seasons.
Though it's okay to mix and match.
One benefit of lemon and limes is that you can use fresh squeezed juice using something like:
http://www.amazon.com/Joie-29403-Lemon-Juicer/dp/B0046IUM3C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1358937882&sr=8-2
And if you are using organic (pesticides are absorbed into the outer skin), it is beneficial to throw a little piece of the peel in.

As you progress with the flush you can increase the strength to 2 tbsp of olive oil and 2 cloves of garlic.

This blend actually tastes pretty good. It is great for your body and immune system (anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, phytonutrients).
The ginger adds a nice zingy taste and is a great morning stimulant with no crash.

Follow this drink with 2 warm glasses of a quality detox tea 10-15 minutes afterward.

Then you can eat.

Diet before and after / Post Kambo Enema Protocol
« on: January 23, 2013, 05:39:38 AM »
I feel it a necessity to do an enema after Kambo. I feel that after the Kambo purge it also pushes toxins into the elimination channels. A major one being the bowel. I feel this way because after the first Kambo use my bowels actually burned before having to go to the bathroom. And after both first two uses of Kambo my movements seemed more toxic and foul. I also feel this is necessary after a liver & gallbladder flush which seems to break up and push a lot of stuff out of the liver & gallbladder, after which an enema will help wash it all out. After one specific day of liver & gallbladder flush and during about 3 different enemas I would see hundreds of things floating on the water that were like hard yellowish chips. I don't know if these were stones or intestinal plaque.

Sorry to be graphic but this is a healing forum. And wow I feel amazing after Kambo, liver/gallbladder flush, and enema. I'm also starting to feel that besides psychological issues that need to be worked out, a toxic body is the greatest cause of people suffering from negativity & depression. How much lighter, more energetic, and positive you feel after a multiple day cleansing.

General Discussion / Re: is kambo+caffeine dangerous?
« on: January 18, 2013, 01:54:56 PM »
I actually feel like kambo strengthens my heart. I take a lota stimulants and excercise at the gym a lot and for like a week after kambo i feel like my heart beats slower and stronger even while running my ass off. a lot of times my pre-workouts have too much stimulants and make me feel like my heart is going to explode. but after kambo it seemed keep my heart more stable. idk if it's all in my head.

550
I don't know anyone I could point you to. But I taught myself how to use Kambo by reading this forum. I read every post on this forum, watched a few vids and read a few articles on Kambo. My first Kambo experience was on myself. It is a simple process. But wow 500 sticks!? I hope you got a good quantity discount. lol That is a lot considering each stick has about 10 doses worth. 50 dots.

I will hopefully be treating a friend with Kambo today.

BTW KIAP, it won't allow me to upload pictures to this forum. Any idea why? I'd like to post some kambo pictures. I feel the forum is lacking in kambo pictures. Esp ones on meridians can help build and memorize a mental picture of the meridians in the body.

Physical Cleansing and Healing of Illnesses / Re: Healing flu with Kambo
« on: January 14, 2013, 07:43:27 PM »
Remember that sickness is our bodies way of doing a house cleaning, a detox, because we have neglected to do it well enough or frequently enough. So even if Kambo could stop you from ever getting sick again, that would be senseless.

Quote
and i always had to take pills to lessen the fever

When you're sick, you don't want to suppress a fever. The fever is a natural healing response. For every degree of temperature rise in your body, the speed at which your white blood cells (T-cells, B-Cells, Macrophages; the cells that eat up cancer, tumors, and toxins in the body) can move through your body is doubled. So for a 104* fever, these cells are moving 64x faster in your body and can much more efficiently eat up waste, the toxins, tumors. This is a very important aspect of the healing process. When you begin to have a fever the Macrophages emit a chemical called Interleukin 1 which tells your body to create an even greater fever.

This is why there are therapies designed to create artificial fevers, i.e., a very hot soak in a bathtub with heating herbs (garlic, ginger, mustard, cayenne, etc.) followed by a cold sheet treatment after you come out. Your body senses that it's very cold and heats the body even further.

552
awesome! great response. i gotta try this.

553
I would think it would definitely help. And possibly completely cure it after a couple treatments, but i have no proof.
