Diabetes / Re: Harmine in the Treatment of Diabetes
« on: January 11, 2017, 09:09:35 AM »
The recent study is titled ‘A high-throughput chemical screen reveals that harmine-mediated inhibition of DYRK1A increases human pancreatic beta cell replication’. Researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai screened over 100,000 potential drugs, and only harmine drove human insulin-producing beta cells to multiply. This could be a significant stepping stone in the treatment of diabetes, a disease that effects hundreds of thousands of people.

A summary of the study and comments by lead research Andrew Stewart, MD, can be found at Science Daily.

The Case For Curcumin In the Prevention and Treatment of Disease
The government biomedical and life sciences database known as Medline contains over 21 million published study citations, and is accessible to search through engines such as Pubmed.gov.  2.6 million of them contain reference to cancer.  115,000 of them remain after applying the "Complementary Medicine" filter.   There are 2,625 topics on cancer which can be found indexed on the GreenMedInfo.com database, referencing 612 natural substances of potential value.

Turmeric, and particularly its polyphenolic constituent known as curcumin, which gives the spice its golden hue, is one of the most extensively studied natural compounds of all time, with 4588 references to it on the National Library of Medicine's bibliographic database known as Medline [as of 2.25.2012]. And yet, despite having been shown to have therapeutic value in over 500 disease states in animal and in vitro studies, it still has not been the subject of extensive human clinical research – for the reasons stated above.

GreenMedInfo.com, an open source natural medicine database, has indexed curcumin's anti-cancer properties in over 50 cancers, with the top 10 most cancers researched in association with curcumin listed below.
Sources: http://www.greenmedinfo.com/substance/curcumin

As one can see curcumin holds great promise. It has been repeatedly demonstrated to possess simultaneously both chemoprotective/chemosensitizing and radioprotective/radiosensitizing properties, meaning it is capable of reducing the adverse effects on healthy cells caused by chemotherapy and radiotherapy, as well as enhance the cancer-killing properties of these conventional therapies. It also has an exceptionally high margin of safety, at least an order of magnitude greater than commonly used conventional chemotherapy agents such as 5-fluoruracil.[2] Given these facts curcumin, at the very least, should be considered an ideal candidate for use as an adjuvant in integrative cancer care, and perhaps as a first-line treatment alternative to conventional chemo-agents.

"A study from the University of Colorado Cancer Center which found grapeseed extract to prohibit cancer cell growth while promoting cancer cell death. Most interesting, that “it required less than half the concentration of GSE to suppress cell growth and kill 50% of stage IV cells than it did to achieve similar results in the state II cells.”

Precautions / Re: Airway Passages swelling shut??

A tincture of lobelia would be useful to keep on hand in case of this circumstance. You could squirt it into the mouth.
The strong astringent and muscle relaxant properties of Lobelia will open up the throat.

International Association of Kambo Practitioners

The IAKP are a group of practitioners and other interested parties who seek to support and encourage the safe, responsible and legal use of Kambo through training, awareness raising, knowledge development and sharing, research, professional behaviour and best practice.

Thus far the use of Kambo has been unregulated. Although often wrongly classified as a hallucinogenic on the internet, it has escaped the usual legislation and restrictions applied to other medicines from the Amazon rainforest.  The founding of the International Association of Kambo Practitioners, (IAKP) is driven by the desire to see this situation continue. As a regulating body for Kambo Practitioners outside of the Amazon rainforest, we work to support all traditions and lineages of Kambo treatment providers. Our Code of Practice lays down guidelines for the safe and responsible use of Kambo. The impeccable behaviour and thorough training of our practitioners and the way they work gives security and confidence to users.

Our website is a source/body of knowledge with links to research, contributions from top practitioners, how to find a trained practitioner, training courses and general information about Kambo. Our Practitioner knowledge base, the KPBase, is only open to current members of the IAKP with Practitioner level membership or above.

As a not for profit organisation, the IAKP are committed to ensuring the sustainability of the tribes who own the knowledge of this great medicine and who share it with us so generously. The IAKP, along with other key participants are currently working on plans to provide better educational resources and health care to the remote communities of the Matses tribe of Peru. The details of this exciting and important project will be published on this site later in 2016.

Reflexology, Auriculotherapy, Facial Acupucture / Treating the Brain

Treating the brain by applying oils with a q-tip to the salivary gland (the little hole you feel with your tongue in the middle of the cheek which occurs on both sides) which connects to the brain, for brain infection (mumps, meningitis) , brain cancer, or just nootropic supplementation, etc. Imagine applying oils of garlic, oregano, lemon, rosemary, intellect tree seed, etc.

EDIT: This would fall under the forum category of "New and Experimental Research" But I treated an infection with this method and watched it clear up in 2 days.

Harmala Alkaloids
Harmala alkaloids, found in banisteriopsis caapi vine and peganum harmala seeds also show great potential for anti-cancer research:

Ethanol and chloroform extracts of P. harmala showed protective effects against thiourea-induced carcinogenicity by normalization of neuron-specific enolase and thyroglobulin levels in animal models.[64] Other effects of the plant extract such as anti-proliferative effect on Leukemic cell lines,[65] inhibitory action on the metastasis of melanoma cells, inducing apoptosis in melanoma cells,[66] tumor angiogenesis inhibition,[13] and binding to RNA[61] have also been reported by various authors. In some cases, P. harmala showed a higher selectivity towards malignant cells than common anticancer drugs like doxorubicin.[57] All of these data suggest that P. harmala and its alkaloids possess the potential to be used as novel antioxidant and anti-tumor agents in anti-cancer therapy.

Another possible mechanism has been raised by recent meta-analyses showing that serotonin signaling could prevent the type I IFN-mediated depressive behavior of HCV patients (86, 87). The signaling behind this phenomenon has not been uncovered yet; however, it is possible that chronic 5-HTR stimulation may block either the PRR-IRF3/7 or type I IFN receptor pathways. Since both NF-κB and type I IFN signaling contribute to the transcriptional regulation of genes that are involved in cellular proliferation and survival, and many psychedelics exhibit in vitro anti-cancer potential through 5-HTRs, these compounds could be promising candidates in novel therapies of cancer

Cannabinoids
Abstract
Quote
It is well-established that cannabinoids exert palliative effects on some cancer-associated symptoms. In addition evidences obtained during the last fifteen years support that these compounds can reduce tumor growth in animal models of cancer. Cannabinoids have been shown to activate an ER-stress related pathway that leads to the stimulation of autophagy-mediated cancer cell death. In addition, cannabinoids inhibit tumor angiogenesis and decrease cancer cell migration. The mechanisms of resistance to cannabinoid anticancer action as well as the possible strategies to develop cannabinoid-based combinational therapies to fight cancer have also started to be explored. In this review we will summarize these observations (that have already helped to set the bases for the development of the first clinical studies to investigate the potential clinical benefit of using cannabinoids in anticancer therapies) and will discuss the possible future avenues of research in this area.

i read that its very dangerous for people with Implants.

Did you read that here? If not can you link me to what you read?
I don't have experience with this and would like someone that has to respond but,
6 years is a long time for your body to integrate your implant,
and it is not something that kambo can make the body easily reject,
as it is likely screwed into place.
I assume that you would be fine.

I will PM you the email address of someone you can ask with more experience than I.
